How can I check my certification information or send it to an employer?

How do I get my CompTIA CareerID?

You are assigned a CompTIA CareerID number when you schedule your IT certification exam. Your CompTIA CareerID number will be on your exam score report.

I have lost or forgotten my CompTIA Career ID number. What should I do?

Look for a recent exam score report. If you took your exam at a Pearson VUE testing center, your CompTIA CareerID number will be displayed on the score report. Look for a number that begins with the letters COMP and ends with a series of 8 or 12 numbers, such as COMP10274698. If you are unable to locate your exam score report, you can contact your exam provider and request a new copy. Or you can contact CompTIA Customer Service at questions@comptia.org or (630) 678-8300.

When will I receive my certificate and ID card?

You will receive your certificate and ID card within four to six weeks of passing your exam. Contact CompTIA if you have not received your materials after eight weeks. Include your name, address, phone number and ID number.

How do I get a replacement ID card?

Log on to the CompTIA database to request a new certificate and ID card. There is a $15 replacement fee. You will need your score report once you have logged on. Once you are in the database and have updated your demographic information, click on the Request Certificate link and fill out the rest of the form.

I am having a problem with ordering from the online store. What should I do?

For tests with more than one part, do I take the tests separately or at the same time?

You can do either. Most people choose to take their exams at separate times to allow for studying and preparation.

Why do the tests need to be updated?

Changes in technology and needs in the industry necessitate that our certifications be updated to remain an accurate indicator of knowledge and predictor of employee success. Exams are continuously reviewed and updated when needed to provide the most value to the candidate, employer and overall market.

I have a CompTIA certification. Does this make me a CompTIA member?

No, certification holders are not necessarily CompTIA members.
