CompTIA Expands Focus on Delivering Member Value, Workforce Development Programs and Leadership in Public Policy

Board of Directors establishes long-term strategic objectives for leading IT industry trade association

Las Vegas, Nev., August 6, 2009 – CompTIA, the leading trade association for the information technology (IT) industry, will expand its influence on public policy issues affecting the industry; develop new programs to produce a pipeline of skilled tech workers; provide more resources for association members; and become more active in engaging, connecting and informing the industry, media and key leaders about major trends affecting the global IT industry.

These four long-term strategies were established this week by the CompTIA Board of Directors during the association’s annual Breakaway conference, the premier event for the North American IT channel.

CompTIA’s strategic objectives are:

• Influencing IT public policy
