Richard Rysiewicz
Vice President, Services

Richard Rysiewicz is the vice president of services for the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), the leading trade association for the world’s information technology (IT) industry. He leads the association’s IT services area which develops international standards to improve the quality and efficiency for IT service organizations. Under his direction the CompTIA Services Section provides a venue for service executives to communicate, resolve issues and establish industry standards.

During Mr. Rysiewicz’s tenure with CompTIA, the Services Section has developed technical skill standards through professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, Project+, and PDI+. These technical certifications have improved the skills of thousands of technical employees around the world.

Mr. Rysiewicz has led efforts to develop process standards for service businesses.  These standards focus on improving the quality of service delivery; reducing the cost of service delivery; and facilitating partnerships among IT channel businesses. Programs such as the CompTIA Authorized Service Center, Service Metric Benchmarking Program and Customer Service Excellence Program provide skills validation, service performance benchmarking and customer service training that have helped the IT service industry improve its performance and customer satisfaction.

Before joining CompTIA, Mr. Rysiewicz was the owner of Service Solutions, Inc., an IT consulting and services business. He also established a national software company and was an executive at a technology distributor.

Mr. Rysiewicz is a well known speaker, author and media resource on IT-services related topics. Among his recent articles was “Making Your Way Through The Maze Of Managed IT Services”, which appeared in IndustryWeek on March 23, 2007.

Mr. Rysiewicz received his BA and MBA in business from the University of Colorado at Denver.
